We recently decided to get a new dresser for Lucy’s bedroom, and get rid of the changing table. It’s super tiny, not that functional, and it served it’s purpose when we needed it to. I’ve been searching for the perfect dresser for her room for a while now, so when I came across this one from Ameriwood, I was super excited about it.
It was the perfect size, with 6 big drawers and gave us twice the storage space as her old changing table did. I absolutely love the fact that it’s a beautiful grey color, which isn’t always the most common in furniture. Most of our previous furniture has been dark wood, so I’m looking forward to collecting more lighter pieces for the house.
The grey color of the dresser matches her room perfectly. The corner that we put it in is right in front of the window, so it gives the space a nice, airy feel to it. I wanted to keep everything somewhat neutral around it, so I went with basic white for the changing pad (that rarely even gets used anymore, since Lucy is such a maniac when getting changed). It goes perfectly with the white curtains and pom-poms hanging on her window.
Then I found the beautiful smaller, double cabinet bookshelf, and I knew I needed it for our entry way. We have a sad excuse for a console table there for years now, and I’ve been dying to replace it. This thing was perfect, light and white, and the cabinet doors make it easy to store stuff in with a little one running around. (I just added some of those nifty magnetic locks to the cabinet doors, and she can’t get into them! It’s perfect.) It works really well in that space, and gives our entry way a perfect place to set your keys, mail, or whatever else you bring home.
The assembly of both pieces was fairly easy. The dresser was a bit more a bit more difficult, and definitely took two people to successfully put it together. The drawers make it a little bit more involved, but it was still super easy to follow the instructions. All the pieces were clearly marked and it wasn’t stressful at all. The smaller bookshelf was a piece of cake, and I knocked it out in less than hour during one of Lucy’s nap. Gotta love that!
Overall, I am very pleased with both pieces of furniture. I love all their contemporary and fun designs, and the prices are totally fair and reasonable. They’re well made, sturdy, and can withstand our little Lucy, and that’s saying a lot. I will definitely look into Ameriwood for future furniture purchases, and I know I won’t be disappointed.
Have you ever bought and owned a piece of Ameriwood furniture? If so, which pieces and what did you think about them?! Were they easy to assemble and did they fit well in your space? I love hearing from you! Like, comment and share!
